Vertigo

Vertigo is one of the most common medical complaints. Vertigo is the feeling that you’re moving when you’re not. Or it might feel like things around you are moving when they aren’t. Vertigo can feel similar to motion sickness. People experiencing vertigo generally describe the sensation as “feeling dizzy” or feeling as if the room is spinning. Vertigo is not the same as lightheadedness.

Some useful homeopathic remedies for vertigo with their indications are as follows,

*Gelsemium 30*

1.  Vertigo with extreme dizziness and  dim vision and heaviness of eyelids.
2. Vertigo may pose a difficulty in walking with a loss of balance.
3.  Vertigo with cervical problems.
4. Vertigo starts from the back of the head and then spreads all over.
5. Heaviness of head, especially over the eyes,
6. There may be visual disturbance like dim vision or analysing one object as two (diplopia)
7. The person also complains of loss of balance while walking, resulting in staggering or a tottering gait.

*China 30*

1.  Vertigo  after loss of blood or after loss of fluids as in diarrhea.
2. Vertigo due to anemia .
3. Pt feels very weak, dizzy and walking too is proving to be very difficult,

*Cocculus Indicus 30*

1.  Vertigo is accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
2. Vertigo accompanied by nausea during travelling.
3. Vertigo with nausea resulting from Cervical Spondylosis.

*Conium 200*

1. This medicine is suitable for elderly people who experience
2. The motion of head sideways worsens the condition.
3. The person feels as if he is moving around in a circle.
4. Vertigo may also get aggravated from motion in bed.

*Bryonia Alba 30*

1. It is good medicine for the Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPVV
2. The Vertigo with the slightest motion of head in any direction.
3. The Vertigo improves when the head is in an absolute rest position without even the slightest motion

*Belladonna 30*

1. Vertigo along with pain and stiffness in cervical back. Vertigo with cervical spondylosis.
2. The Vertigo appears during any or every change in position.
3. The pt may show a tendency to fall mainly backwards or on the left side.
4. Stooping may also bring on an episode of Vertigo.
5. Headache can also accompany it. Mostly, binding the head gives relief from the headache.

It is of great help when the Vertigo is worse while walking or standing along with Cervical Spondylosis.

*Chenopodium 30*

1. It is the medicine  for the Vertigo in Meniere’s Disease.
2. There is complain of sudden episodes of Vertigo with noises in ear.
3. The noises are mostly buzzing in character.
4. This is accompanied by decreased hearing power for sounds of low pitch.

*Chininum Sulph 30*

1. Vertigo with horrible noises in ear.
2. The noises can be buzzing, ringing or roaring in nature.
3. The person has difficulty in standing and frequently falls down.

*Phosphorus 200*

1. Phosphorus is mainly prescribed when the Vertigo gets worse upon rising from a sitting position, rising from stooping or from bed.
2. The person also complains that voices re-echo in the ear with difficulty in hearing.

*Silicea 30*

1. Vertigo due to ear infection.
2. The Vertigo is accompanied by an offensive pus-like discharge from the ear.
3. Excessive perspiration on the head and feet.
4. The Vertigo gets better by keeping the head warm by wrapping.

*Pulsatilla 30*

1. Vertigo with ear troubles.
2. It is the best remedy if there is Vertigo loses  function of the ear.
3. There are thick discharges from the ear.
4. Usually the Vertigo gets better in open air.

*Cocculus Indicus 30*

1. Vertigo with ear complaints, linked with extreme nausea.
2. Vertigo worsens on rising from bed or from sitting, accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

*Petroleum 30*

1. Vertigo is accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
2. The Vertigo is felt in the back of the head.

*Cyclamen 30*

1. Vertigo with vision troubles.
2. The person feels spots of varying colours floating before the eyes, dimness of vision or double vision with Vertigo.
3. The pt feels as if the surrounding objects are revolving in a circular manner.
4. The symptoms worse  in open air and comparatively feels better in a room.
